EDA
Rural Systems Pvt Ltd (EDA) is a development consulting
organisation specialising in development research, sector studies,
advisory services, impact assessment, Social Performance Assessment
and Social Performance Management
The organisation was established to identify the service
delivery gaps in the microfinance and micro-enterprise sectors and
develop practical solutions to support and develop these sectors.
Professional support to these sectors was identified as a
sustainable vehicle to address EDA's core concern towards poverty
and gender issues. The organisations' focus from the start was to
support development initiatives with research and management skills.
The organisation works as a social enterprise, for profit yet
dedicated to development
EDA today is one of the leading development sector consultancy
research and capacity building organisations. Microfinance and
Micro-enterprise are EDA's focus areas. EDA has substantial
worldwide knowledge of best practice along with regional experience

Benchmarking poverty outreach
Poverty

performance. EDA developed a scoring methodology, linked to
participatory wealth ranking, as part of microfinance impact
assessment (from 2002)

the development of the PPI from 2006, EDA is working with MFIs to
apply the PPI tool as part of SPM and social and social reporting.
